OSP Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled OSP Inspector to join our team at NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company. As an OSP Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing contractor construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and record distances and payable units, interpreting work prints, and preparing detailed job reports for contractor billing.
• Inspect and oversee construction of manholes, environmental vaults, conduit formations, and other types of underground telephone construction built by contractors.
• Meet multiple task demands, maintaining high priority requirements that meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards for compliance.
• Observe work in progress to ensure procedures followed and materials used conform to work prints.
• Provide and ensure the pathway for new copper and fiber cables by monitoring outside contractors.
• Interpret work prints and specifications for contractors, correcting deviations from specified construction procedures.
• Climb ladders, work aloft, enter confined spaces, and move/lift items not exceeding 60 lbs.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

Requirements

• Knowledge of State, Federal, OSHA, NEC codes.
• Working knowledge of 3GIS, Google Earth, or other industry standard geospatial applications.
• General computer application skills required (MSOffice applications, Adobe, GSuite, etc.).
• Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to work operations.
• Applies vast knowledge of OSP construction methods, practices, and safety guidelines.
