Position Overview
This role is pivotal in assisting individuals who are blind or visually impaired to overcome barriers to employment. The primary responsibility involves implementing a structured rehabilitation program tailored to each individual's needs, which includes job development and placement services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with potential clients and referral sources, including healthcare professionals and social services, to promote the available vocational rehabilitation services.
• Conduct initial assessments and interviews to determine eligibility for services and develop Individualized Employment Plans (IPE) that align with clients' skills and aspirations.
• Coordinate and authorize necessary services to facilitate employment opportunities for clients.
• Provide job development and placement assistance in accordance with the established employment goals.
• Implement outreach initiatives to educate eye care providers and enhance referral processes from community sources.
• Ensure compliance with federal eligibility criteria during case management and service provision.
