Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including data entry and PI audits.
- Provide clinical support assistance, including cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, and troubleshooting common software and hardware problems.
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
- Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight.
- Collect specimens, perform skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and/or postural drainage.
- Perform oxygen room set-up and monitors oxygen flow-rate, performs oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal suctioning, tracheostomy care, fecal impaction removal, sterile dressing change wound irrigation for wounds that are 48 hours old, IV fluid assembly and monitoring, IV site care and discontinue peripheral IV, ostomy irrigation and care, urinary catheterization and irrigation, performs established oral, nasogastric, and gastrostomy tube feedings.
- Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions.
- Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Currently holds a Basic Life Support Provider certificate (or willing to receive it on your own).
This position qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which includes a $5,000 payment over a three-year commitment. You will also receive an extensive benefit package, including PTO hours, accrued based on the number of worked hours.
Work EnvironmentThis is a 36-hour per week position with variable shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, caring for patients ranging from minor illnesses and injuries to critical medical emergencies and trauma patients.
Education and Experience- High School diploma or GED.
- Currently listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Currently listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Six (6) months related nursing assistant experience.
- Fluent in verbal and written English language.
- Ability to develop basic computer skills.
