Job SummaryThe Sr. Quality Assurance Lead will be the leader of Omeat's Quality & Food Safety Department. This role requires a highly experienced professional with a strong background in quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, training, and tracking quality systems, food safety standards, and federal and state requirements to ensure a safe product with consistent quality.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality systems, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Provide technical compliance, quality oversight, and support in making quality decisions.
- Implement QA policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensure ongoing site compliance to documented processes, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and applicable regulations/standards.
- Manage the Quality System function, including deviation management, CAPA, change control, and risk management processes.
- Manage the Quality Control Function.
- Establish and administer the quality department's budget.
- Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the Executive team.
- Create and develop food safety plans and protocols for supplies, ingredients, and final products.
- Manage training programs and records management.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in cGMP compliance, FDA guidelines, and international guidelines dealing with bioprocessing, food manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- In-depth understanding of quality processes/systems, risk management, and manufacturing control strategies.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly.
- Demonstrated people and technical leadership and building and developing high-performing technical functions and teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Food manufacturing work environment (steam, heat, and cold).
- Flexible schedule while working an expected 40+ hours/week.
- Based in Thousand Oaks, CA.
- Minimal travel anticipated.
