Residential Counselor Position

Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team at St. John's Community Services (SJCS). As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, providing person-centered care and support to help them achieve their individual goals.
Responsibilities:- Prioritize best practices in person-centered care, respecting each resident's dignity and integrity.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents, providing a supportive and structured environment.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and the SJCS team.
- Provide orderliness, cleanliness, and structure to the program's day-to-day operations.
- Ability to love and care for a diverse group of individuals.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical mandates of maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written.
- Ability to demonstrate a calm, composed, and de-escalating demeanor.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of relevant experience.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in human services or related field (desired).
- Competitive hourly rate ($20-$21 per hour).
