Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychiatrist to join our team at Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine, Inc. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with mental disorders, developing personalized treatment plans to address their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Prescribe medication and suggest therapy options as needed, working closely with patients to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor treatment progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the best possible results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including the prescription of psychotropic medications, and monitor treatment results.
  • Evaluate patients by interviewing them, their families, and other relevant individuals, conducting physical examinations, observing behaviors, and reviewing medical history and related documents.
  • Develop treatment plans by determining the nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders, and establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
  • Treat patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications, discussing progress toward goals with patients, providing instructions, monitoring the effect of medications, and supervising staff provision of services.
  • Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Assure quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations requirements, and legal regulations, participating in utilization reviews, and remaining available for emergency consultations.
  • Improve staff competence by providing training and discussions regarding the interrelationship between psychosocial and physiological problems, psychotropic medications, crisis intervention, and related issues.
  • Maintain historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events, and writing summaries.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent patient service, care, and bedside manner.
  • Completion of a psychiatric residency or a family medicine/psychiatry residency in an ACGME-approved residency program.
  • Current BC/BE in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry).
  • Valid state medical license as MD or DO.
  • Valid DEA certificate.
  • 2 years' experience working full-time as a psychiatrist in child/adult psychiatry.
Working Conditions

This position requires flexible work hours, contact with clients, family members, and other professional disciplines and service agencies. The applicant must be medically able to work and manage effectively with changing situations, varying workloads, interruptions, etc. in a fast-paced environment. Employees may be exposed to communicable diseases, biohazard substances, and other conditions found in a clinical environment. Travel will be required to outside agencies at times.

Mental Attention or Visual Demand

This job requires continuous mental and visual attention, and manual dexterity when attending to patient care and medical record keeping. Repetitive work functions and diversified operations require constant alertness or activity. May involve problems of correlation or application of reports, statistics, or other data. Must have acute visual perception for patient care and record keeping requirements. Must be able to communicate via telephone and other communication systems. Normal or corrected vision is required in order to view computer screens, medical record forms, and equipment screens. Normal or corrected hearing is required for hearing alarms and for other safety considerations.

Character of Supervision

Immediate supervision over a unit, section, or department where most of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work, eliminating difficulties, and whereby procedures are standardized.

Physical Demands

This position may require frequent standing/walking for extended periods of time.
