Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, ports, and firewalls.

Possesses expertise in LAN/WAN technologies.

Installs, configures, and troubleshoots both analog and digital telecom systems, including VOIP infrastructure.

Experience with Nextiva is highly desirable.

Demonstrates the ability to respond swiftly to outages and provide connectivity solutions during adverse weather conditions.

Monitors network devices such as switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN for bandwidth usage, outages, and performance metrics.

Assists in the creation of documentation, diagrams, policies, and procedures, while also participating in training initiatives.

Provides regular status updates on ongoing projects and outages.

Collaborates within a team environment, typically under the guidance of the information security team, project lead, or manager.

Assigns and prioritizes tasks for technicians using Service Desk software and oversees workload distribution.

Conducts site assessments and engages with the user community to identify their telecommunications requirements.

Escalates unresolved telecommunications issues to senior IT personnel, providing clear descriptions and supporting documentation.

Leads telecommunications projects focused on establishing new sites, upgrading existing infrastructure, and refreshing equipment.

Ensures quality assurance by reviewing documented resolutions from other technicians in the Service Desk software.

Interfaces with and manages telecommunications vendors to address related issues and system upgrades.

Efficiently handles escalated customer service concerns, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Utilizes telecommunications provisioning software and Nextiva for managing moves, adds, and changes to end-user phone systems, VoIP phones, voicemail, and fax services.

Coordinates and oversees the relocation and setup of voice-related services for new staff, including the delivery, setup, and configuration of phone equipment as necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations with increasing responsibilities.

CCNA certification or higher is preferred.

Familiarity with Avaya, Nextiva, RingCentral, VBC, or Dialpad is advantageous.

Technical proficiency in networking components, firewall management, network security, and monitoring tools.

Experience with datacenter, campus, and edge networking.

Knowledge of multi-VLAN configurations, next-generation firewalls, SD-WAN, spanning tree protocols, and wireless networking.

Mid-level understanding of network and computer technologies.

Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask effectively.

Able to work independently while effectively utilizing guidance and training.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the networking domain.
