JOB OVERVIEW:

In this role, you will leverage your healthcare and customer service expertise to support the entire blood collection process. This involves working collaboratively with your team to transport and set up equipment at donation sites, creating a welcoming atmosphere for volunteer donors, and adhering to all safety protocols while collecting vital blood donations for hospitals.

YOUR ROLE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE (Key Responsibilities):

Establish personal connections with donors by listening to their stories and helping them understand the significance of their contributions. Work alongside your colleagues to foster a friendly and inviting environment, encouraging our volunteer donors to return. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure that the blood collected meets all goals and regulatory standards for safe transfusion. May operate Red Cross vehicles and collaborate with the team to set up and dismantle equipment at donation sites. A minimum height of 60 inches may be required for safe vehicle operation.

WORK SCHEDULE:

To effectively serve our donors and community, staff members work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules are provided two to three weeks in advance.

COMPENSATION:

Starting pay rate is competitive.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in customer service and strong verbal communication skills are essential. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy items, good manual dexterity, and the capacity to sit or stand for extended periods. Basic computer skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in healthcare or phlebotomy (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is advantageous. Leadership experience is a plus.
