JOB OVERVIEW:

In this role, you will leverage your healthcare and customer service expertise to assist with the entire blood collection process. This includes working collaboratively with your team to transport and set up equipment at donation sites, creating a welcoming atmosphere for volunteer donors, and adhering to all safety protocols while collecting vital blood donations for hospitals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish personal connections with donors by listening to their stories and helping them understand the significance of their contributions.
  • Work with your colleagues to foster a friendly and inviting environment, encouraging repeat donations from our volunteers.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented approach to ensure that the blood collected meets established goals and regulatory standards for safe transfusion.
  • Operate Red Cross vehicles as needed and collaborate with the team to set up and dismantle equipment at donation locations.

SCHEDULE:

  • To accommodate the needs of our donors and community, staff work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work schedules are provided two to three weeks in advance.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting pay rate is competitive.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in customer service and strong verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy items, good manual dexterity, and the capacity to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in healthcare or phlebotomy (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
