We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Coordination Assistant to join our team at Illumination Foundation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal facilitation of medical care for our homeless clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments of clients upon arrival, including head-to-toe assessments, vital sign checks, patient education, and determining insurance status.
  • Input and update client information and medical notes in our electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with medical coordinators and healthcare providers to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure they receive the best medical care, linking them to medical resources and insurance programs as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and non-restricted Medical Assistant (MA) Certificate or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
