Job Title: Registered Nurse II

Christiana Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse II to support our Post Anesthesia Care Surgical Observation Unit.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our team. As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide high-quality patient care to adult patients admitted for observation and inpatient admission awaiting bed availability following a surgical procedure.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document accurate clinical assessments of patients on admission and throughout hospital stay according to established standards.
  • Assess the need for referrals for discharge planning.
  • Identify actual and potential problems for which the patient is at risk.
  • Initiate, follow, and modify a nursing plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis.
  • Assess and document patient response to interventions.
  • Respond optimally to patient crisis situations as outlined in unit-specific standards.
  • Initiate and participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions regarding patient care or practice.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge vital to delivering care to patients 16 years of age and older.
  • Establish and maintain a sound knowledge base of nursing care vital for the specific patient population.
  • Apply effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, co-workers, management, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
  • Optimally delegate duties and tasks to other nursing staff after assessment of capability and scope of responsibilities.
