OSPTA Home Health & Hospice is currently in search of full-time Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) dedicated to providing outstanding care to patients in hospice settings.
The hospice aides play a crucial role in delivering personal care, which encompasses tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, skin care, changing linens, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
Sign-on Bonus: Eligible candidates may receive a bonus of up to $2,000. While prior experience in hospice care is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be ready to travel in various weather conditions.
- Competent in using technology and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are vital.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Preferred availability for early morning shifts to provide patient care.

Job Summary: The primary responsibility is to provide personal care services to terminally ill patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role includes offering support and understanding to families during bereavement and collaborating with the hospice team to ensure care aligns with the Individualized Care Plan (IDG).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have graduated from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program and possess a valid certification in the state of practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be in good health and maintain a high energy level.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a nursing assistant is preferred, with active patient contact within the last three years.
Physical Requirements: This position demands significant physical effort, including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, and assisting in lifting or transferring patients weighing up to 100 pounds. Candidates must possess the necessary sensory abilities or adaptive devices to perform essential duties.
Essential Functions:
- Provide essential personal care assistance under the direction of the RN, including bathing, oral care, and skin care.
- Assist with bed transfers and ambulation as outlined in the care plan.
- Conduct range of motion exercises as instructed by qualified personnel.
- Perform incidental household tasks that contribute to the patient's well-being.
- Prepare meals, including special dietary needs.
- Monitor and report vital signs as assigned by the RN.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Report any changes in the patient's condition to the hospice office and notify the RN.
- Attend a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-service education programs annually.
- Maintain current certification as required by the state.
Certifications and Clearances:
- CPR certification for healthcare providers.
- Pre-employment criminal background check.
- Physical examination.
- PPD screening.
- Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
