Purpose:

To provide support to the supervisor by acting as a liaison between the supervisor and employees, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained, and serving as a relief worker when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comply with Jel Sert safety procedures, GMP requirements, and work instructions.
  • Direct the workforce and ensure product quality and work standards are met.
  • Supply workers with necessary materials and ensure the correct materials are present.
  • Train existing staff and new employees.
  • Ensure employees are in position on time after breaks and lunch and at start-up.
  • Relieve staff as necessary.
  • Identify safety and quality issues.
  • Perform other similar work as required.
Food Safety/Quality Responsibilities:
  • Follow applicable work procedures and instructions; monitor critical control points (CCPs) and quality control points (QCPs). If applicable, monitor quality critical control points (QCCPs).
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Good motor skills and hand-eye coordination, effective communication with all levels of personnel, basic math skills, identify quality problems. Proficient in all department positions, communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, leadership skills. Previous experience within the department preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing/Distribution and fast-paced environment, a full range of motion is required (reaching and lifting), lifting up to 15 lbs., standing for the duration of a shift (8 or more hours), continuous work, possible exposure to various odors and powder dust, work independently.
