ResponsibilitiesThe following contributions are essential for successful completion of the role:
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and complete work orders, such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl, to uphold hotel standards.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance assignments.
- Support the inspection of electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, televisions, and lighting, performing minor repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Assist in routine and major repairs of all hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, pool systems, HVAC, and plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain the hotel's pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning; complete maintenance request forms and keep logs.
- Enhance the building's exterior and curb appeal through snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening.
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, including cabinets, tables, chairs, and doors, painting and finishing as needed.
- Respond courteously to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Work in varying temperatures and operate heavy machinery.
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Vocational training, military experience, certifications, or experience in building trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
- Previous hotel experience is preferred.
- Ability to climb, read, stand, walk, and lift weights ranging from 25 lbs to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to follow instructions and communicate progress on work assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.
