Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intake Assessor to join our team at Millwood Hospital. As a key member of our intake team, you will play a critical role in assessing patients and facilitating their admission process.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify appropriate levels of care for patients
  • Coordinate the referral and intake process, ensuring seamless communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff
  • Work closely with the Business Office to verify patient financial data and prior authorization of insurance benefits
  • Collaborate with the UR Department to certify patients admitted
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support, ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse or Master's Degree in a human relations or other related field
  • At least two years of experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a mental health professional (RN, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LPCI)
  • Working knowledge of the DSM-IV and the Mental Status Exam
  • Working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field
