We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Sterling Fab Tech. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, installation, and repairs of CNC Machine Tools for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, controls, and network systems. You will be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics, and have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will be responsible for installing machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, wiring, and commissioning of machines and accessories. You will also provide training to customers on the functions and proper use of equipment and accessories.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be working independently, taking initiative in problem-solving, and efficiently managing tasks such as machine installations, repairs, reporting, and technical documentation. You will embody the core values of Sterling Fab Tech: integrity, innovation, and customer-centricity.

What We Offer

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $150,000 depending on experience. You will be located in or around the San Jose / Bay Area, and must live in this area as it is the primary territory you will be working in.

Job Requirements

You must have experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, controls, and/or network systems. You must be able to precisely read and follow blueprints and electrical schematics. You must maintain a positive, professional attitude and be able to communicate in a professional manner with both technical and non-technical individuals.

You will occasionally interface with clients at the management level, and our manufacturers are global suppliers; therefore, a high level of professionalism is expected. You must be a highly motivated, self-starter that takes initiative and works well independently and with others. Up to 90% travel may be required for this position.
