Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, this role utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills in the care of psychiatric patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Apply knowledge of the scope and role of the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, and Unit Clerk to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with facility and departmental policies, as well as standards of nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Encumbered license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the state of Louisiana.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • De-Escalation Certification completed within 90 days of employment and recertified annually.
Work Environment

This role is a per diem position, working as needed to support the healthcare team.
