As a Lead Property Valuator, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties.
  • Researching, classifying, and determining property values to ensure accurate assessments.
  • Producing detailed appraisal reports while maintaining flexibility for ongoing field inspections.
  • Engaging with property owners to provide information on assessment laws and valuation procedures.
  • Monitoring real estate trends and interpreting data to inform assessment practices.
  • Handling negotiations and preparations for tax court, as well as testifying on property assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and evaluate properties to establish fair market values.
  • Perform on-site inspections to assess property conditions.
  • Verify property classifications and ensure accuracy in assessments.
  • Prepare and update field notes to document changes in property assessments.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of relevant experience. An Accredited Minnesota Assessor (AMA) license is required, with the potential to obtain a Senior Accredited Minnesota Assessor (SAMA) license within twenty-four months of hire. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in diverse environments are essential.

Work Environment:
This role involves both office work and field inspections, requiring adaptability to various conditions. The position may involve contact with clients in challenging situations, necessitating strong interpersonal skills.
