Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grants Specialist to join our team at the City of Charleston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering grant programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer grant programs, including preparing and submitting grant applications, reports, and other required documents.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (2 CFR 200).
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including grant recipients, community organizations, and City staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant recipients, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful grant outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on grant program performance, including tracking expenditures, revenues, and other key metrics.
  • Collaborate with City staff and other stakeholders to develop and implement grant programs that align with the City's strategic goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in grant management, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with grant management software, such as GrantHub or Submittable.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to grant management, including the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (2 CFR 200).
