About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler System Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our fire protection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work with low-voltage wiring and associated devices to operate and maintain life safety equipment.
  • Learn to complete service acknowledgments with proper coding through communication devices.
  • Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using laptop computers.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes under authorized supervision.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
  • REM-I license from the Texas Department of Insurance.
  • Able to obtain and retain any required licenses and certifications.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Knowledge of wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
  • Willing to travel out of town.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Repair experience.
  • Backflow certification.
  • NICET Level II certification.
