Cardiology Medical Director

VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly skilled Medical Director and General Cardiologist to lead our cardiac team in Tappahannock, Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the local community while leveraging the resources of a renowned academic health system.
Key Responsibilities:- Enhance our premier cardiology patient care service line, providing seamless continuity for patients requiring higher levels of care.
- Develop and expand cardiology services at Tappahannock, including advanced imaging, electrophysiology, and subspecialty clinics for targeted patient populations.
- Partner with and bolster the strength of the local primary care network.
- Advance health equity through outreach to underserved populations in Tappahannock's six-county service area.
- Board certified cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovascular disease.
- Clinically oriented with a strong focus on patient care.
- Possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a large multidisciplinary program.
- Commitment to teaching and fellowship programs.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
