Job Overview

The Overnight Child Care Provider plays a crucial role in delivering direct support and care to children aged 5-17 during nighttime hours at New Horizons - Audrey Grace House.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include planning, supervising, and assisting a designated group of children with their nighttime routines. This encompasses aiding children in preparing for bed, addressing their nightly requirements, managing household tasks as necessary, and ensuring children are ready for the day ahead.

Compensation: Starting at $15 per hour
Work Schedule: Minimum of 40 hours per week - 8:30 pm to 8:30 am
Employment Type: Full-Time

Essential Duties Include:

  • Providing overnight supervision and support to children, many of whom are dealing with emotional challenges
  • Organizing and facilitating evening activities for your assigned group
  • Assisting with household responsibilities as required
  • Helping children prepare for the morning
  • Occasionally driving children to school using company vehicles
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment
  • Building positive relationships with children to aid in their healing process
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation
  • Completing necessary training as mandated by state regulations
  • Adhering to the philosophy and guidelines set forth in the New Horizons Employee Handbook

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Successful completion of background checks, drug screening, and tuberculosis testing
  • Valid Driver's License is necessary
  • Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to work with varied populations
  • Capability to manage conflict resolution and crisis intervention
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in crisis situations, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
