Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled professional in the logistics sector who possesses a strong inclination for leadership and coordination. This role of Permanent Transportation Manager for our 2nd shift is essential to our logistics team. You will oversee all transportation-related functions during evening hours, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of goods and services. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all transportation operations for the 2nd shift, including planning, organizing, and overseeing the dispatch of commercial drivers.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Formulate and execute strategies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate driver schedules to optimize resource allocation and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Conduct regular assessments of drivers to guarantee safety, efficiency, and compliance with performance standards.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on transportation operations, highlighting performance metrics, operational challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to integrate logistics with business processes, such as sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Address and resolve any transportation and logistics challenges that arise, minimizing disruptions to operations.
  • Provide leadership and support to transportation team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, including driver dispatch, management, reporting, and coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a talent for motivating and guiding a team.
  • Strong understanding of transportation and logistics principles, including relevant regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Proficient in logistics and transportation management systems and software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively engaging with team members, drivers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
