Job Title: Senior Skate Instructor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Skate Instructor to join our team at the Eden Prairie Community Center. As a Senior Skate Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students of all ages and skill levels in group, private, and semi-private Skate School classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent instruction in a variety of on-ice Learn to Skate USA classes and levels.
- Ensure participant needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service.
- Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout the Skate School program.
- Assume a leadership role as a professional in the area of ice skating.
- Encourage participants to continue with learn to skate activities and other ice-related opportunities.
- Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists at all times.
- Instructors enforce all facility and program policies, rules, and regulations.
- Assist in the set-up and tear-down of the Skate School area.
- Arrive when scheduled, well-prepared for assigned classes.
Requirements:
- US Figure Skating CER Category C compliance required.
- Must be a current member in good standing with US Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association.
- CPR (infant, child, and adult) and First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment required and must keep their certification current each year.
- Must pass exam and obtain Learn to Skate USA membership within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching group learn to skate classes required; some training is available.
- Experience teaching Learn to Skate USA or ISI classes preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, bend/stand/reach.
