Cancer Registry Quality Assurance Specialist Job Summary

The Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Cancer Registry Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee the quality assurance and educational needs of the Cancer Registry. This role requires a strong background in oncology data and coding rules, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with the highest standards of quality in data collection and management.
  • Develop and provide education to resolve deficiencies and improve data quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the Cancer Registry field and communicate these changes to the team.
  • Collaborate with the Cancer Registry team to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Five plus years of experience as an Oncology Data Specialist or Certified Tumor Registrar in a hospital or central registry setting.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge of Cancer Registry data and coding rules, as well as experience in data analysis and training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a cancer research facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and state registry data collection requirements.
  • Ability to accurately interpret medical records and abstract data.
Education and Certification:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification required.

This is a 100% remote position.
