Job Summary
El Paso Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and optimal operational efficiency on a specific shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate unit operations/activities to ensure continuity of care and optimal operational efficiency.
- Maintain authority for resource allocation and assist the Nurse Manager and/or supervisor in the management of patients.
- Supervise the work of Registered Nurses (RNs) and non-licensed members of the nursing staff.
Requirements
- Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possess effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
Experience
- One or more years of hospital-based acute care experience.
Education and Training
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
License/Registration/Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- NRP required for licensed nurses working in Specialty Care Areas within 6 months of hire.
- Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas.
