Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelors or Masters Degree required, Doctorate degree preferred
* Licensed Occupational Therapist
* Completed state-regulated CEU requirement in appropriate state (NY, NJ)
* Valid CPR license
* Experience/knowledge with an EMR software is preferred
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong clinical decision-making skills
* 1+ year(s) professional OT experience
* Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
* Basic computer skills
* Works as a team member and individually with minimal supervision
* Maintains a positive, professional demeanor at all times
Job Description
This position requires collecting and recording patient care data that follows format and guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies, and third-party payers. Responsibilities include initial evaluation, daily notes, reassessments/progress reports, discharge plans, and communication with members of the team. Additionally, records daily billing and follows department guidelines for productivity. The ideal candidate will select and administer tests and measures, synthesize evaluation results to formulate diagnosis, goals, prognosis, and plan of care, establish treatment plans based on evaluation results, goals, and best practice, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and patient support systems, assess and re-assess need for modifications to plan of care and goals, identify need for consultations and/or refer patients to another healthcare professional or health care services, initiate and complete discharge plans, provide education/training to patients and/or patient support systems, oversee support staff of COTA, OT aides, attend annual JAG PT Billing and Coding seminar, present 1 facility-level in-service annually, promote JAG PT in the community through lectures/presentations, demonstrate respectful interactions with patients, colleagues, and others, and perform other duties as assigned.
