Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy to identify skilled and experienced independent contractor installation businesses in collaboration with Talent Acquisition to address any staffing needs that may impact market performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with installation contractors, promoting a culture of constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee the auditing process for each installation project to confirm that products and materials are available and that the scope of work aligns with the sales proposal.
  • Manage and coordinate the daily scheduling of project opportunities and ensure every job is completed using Empire Today’s software systems and processes.
  • Review the capacity planner on a daily basis and prioritize orders for available installers based on their ratings.
  • Conduct daily pre-load and post-load meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Address concerns with installation contractors regarding previous installation services and allocation of projects.
  • Engage with installation contractors on-site to resolve installation challenges, troubleshoot technical inquiries, and manage customer change order requests.
  • Discuss the implications of change orders with customers and secure approval to proceed, including obtaining payment for additional scope or changes in products or services.
  • Uphold the principle of treating customers, subcontractors, and colleagues with respect and fairness.
  • Establish trust through integrity by ensuring ethical practices are upheld with contractors.
  • Enhance profitability and improve key operational metrics by developing and executing targeted actions to address performance gaps through regular evaluation of relevant internal metrics.
  • Conduct random site visits to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with industry installation standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and engage with them during and after the installation process to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Oversee the performance, development, and expectations of the internal team (Installation Coordinators and Administrators) and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Implement corporate installation initiatives to achieve stated corporate objectives and drive continuous improvement efforts across all aspects of installation performance, ensuring the team is clear on desired outcomes and supported through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage installation opportunities using practical experience, sound judgment, and integrity.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for installation operations and review them with the Market Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in leadership and market meetings as necessary.
  • Perform additional functions as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems, including all Microsoft applications and order management software.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of carpet and flooring installation fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with home improvement codes, permitting, and licensing requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with material take-offs, additions, and estimating is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Capacity to build and maintain a cohesive team and rapport with installation subcontractors.
  • Able to foster a sense of ownership and empowerment among internal support staff.
  • Ability to work in both office and dock environments, with some regular evening and weekend shifts, off-site work, and/or customer interactions.
  • This position requires approximately 60% of time spent in the office and warehouse on a computer, necessitating the ability to use a keyboard for data entry.
  • Approximately 40% of the time will be spent in the field conducting job site visits and/or internal inspections (must be able to drive to job sites/inspections).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds (e.g., materials, product samples, etc.).
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position both physically and mentally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
