Position: Senior Medical Systems Engineering Technologist

Position Overview:

The Senior Medical Systems Engineering Technologist (Senior MSET) is responsible for conducting evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on medical devices utilized in patient care across various UHS facilities and affiliated institutions. This role includes supervising staff, participating in the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, managing projects, and ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care during their time at our facilities. The Senior MSET operates independently with minimal oversight and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service to all stakeholders involved.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain detailed records of all work activities using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Manage corrective and preventive maintenance tasks for assigned devices and ensure effective communication regarding these responsibilities.
- Travel to various sites as necessary.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards and operational protocols.
- Utilize and operate all necessary testing equipment for device maintenance and repair.
- Execute cabling tasks, including fiber optic installations.
- Follow corporate and local policies relevant to the position.
- Facilitate educational sessions for device users and provide cross-training for other team members.
- Coordinate the procurement of replacement parts and services for devices, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and timely returns of exchange parts.
