Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
  • Experience in evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls
  • CPA designation preferred or in pursuit of relevant risk-based certifications (e.g., CIPT, CCSK, CISSP, etc.)
  • Willingness to work on-site at client locations, including occasional travel

Experience

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally with a Big 4 or mid-tier consulting firm
  • Familiarity with SOC 1/SSAE 18 and SOC 2 standards, HIPAA, and ISO 27001

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the design and operational effectiveness of technology controls related to clients' internal processes
  • Comprehend information technology controls, concepts, and auditing practices
  • Engage with clients to discuss technology-related risks and identify control deficiencies
  • Conduct SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations while adhering to audit guidelines
  • Communicate engagement progress and issues to team members
  • Identify control deficiencies and relay audit findings along with recommendations for control redesign
  • Assist with various IT-related audit and accounting tasks for client engagements
  • Perform audit testing for SOC 1/SSAE 18, SOC 2, SOC 3, and HIPAA projects
  • Prepare meeting agendas (e.g., planning, fieldwork, closing) and client request lists
  • Lead client meetings and foster strong client relationships
  • Oversee the evidence collection process
  • Review evidence and provide constructive feedback to clients
  • Address and respond to client inquiries
  • Document evidence in supporting audit workbooks
  • Communicate engagement status to management, including escalation of potential issues
  • Review deliverables prepared by staff for quality assurance
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to analysts and the management team
