Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing echocardiographic studies on adult patients with known and suspected cardiac anomalies.
Responsibilities:- Obtain and record accurate, high-quality echocardiographic scans of the heart for the purpose of identifying the presence or absence of cardiac abnormalities.
- Calculate accurate measurements of cardiac structures, utilizing both online and offline analysis systems, during the various testing modalities ordered by the physician.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, including proper transducer selection, pre and post-processing settings, 2D and Doppler gain settings.
- Communicate with cardiologists on echocardiographic studies, discussing any questions regarding each patient study as required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) needs to be obtained within 1 year, or Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS needs to be obtained within 1 year.
- Ability to work independently, knowledge and ability to apply ultrasonic principles and instrumentation and Doppler echocardiographic technique, knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
