Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Analyst to join our team at Exelon Services, Inc. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for providing cost engineering support to directors, managers, and project managers. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and monitoring annual budgets, actual and forecasted costs, and long-range plans for transmission, substation, distribution, and gas projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project forecasting, accrual, and status process, attending required meetings and reaching out to project stakeholders for detailed project information.
  • Assist in the development and continued monitoring of budgets and long-range plans for transmission, substation, distribution, and gas projects and programs.
  • Manage project and program financial risks and opportunities, providing detailed analysis of variances to budget, quarterly plan, and month-over-month variance analysis.
  • Develop, organize, and present project and program performance reports for both internal and external use.
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly forecasting and accrual meetings, preparing monthly project accruals and journal entries for project manager review and submission to the finance department.
  • Analyze project actual and forecast data accuracy to ensure compliance with annual internal and external Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
  • Manage the vendor forecasting process, which is used as a source of input for both forecasting and accruals by project controls.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial, or Technical Field.
  • 4-7 years of related experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 6-9 years of relevant business experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes, and practices in the specific functional area supported by this position.
  • Ability to provide in-depth analysis and apply forecasting, analytical, and statistical problem-solving, financial, accounting, and budget analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills for project financial evaluation and risk identification and mitigation.
  • Customer-driven with strong oral and written communication skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial advanced degree.
  • 5-8 years of project cost tracking experience in the electric/gas transmission, distribution, and substation industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard software applications, specialized business technologies, and applications to retrieve and analyze data in support of business needs.
