Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our educational team. This role is essential in providing specialized support to students with various communication needs.


Location:
The position is based within our educational institution, where you will engage with a diverse student population.


Compensation:
The salary for this role ranges from $50,027 to $58,370, commensurate with experience and demonstrated capabilities. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid holidays, leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be expected to:


  • Work effectively with a diverse group of students.
  • Create a safe and structured environment conducive to learning.
  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with emotional and learning challenges.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to provide resources that meet student needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Document and report on student achievements.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid NYS Speech Therapist Certification. A NYS Speech-Language Pathologist license is preferred. Preference will be given to those with experience supporting students with autism and emotional or developmental challenges.


Ideal candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive skill set in effective teaching strategies, including:


  • Familiarity with NYS Learning Standards and Assessments.
  • Knowledge of curriculum content and instructional methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting equity and culturally responsive practices.

Physical Requirements:
The role may involve physical interventions and lifting students as necessary. Successful candidates will complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which is provided by our organization.
