Upson Company is seeking a highly skilled Crane Operator and Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a company crane and dump truck on various job sites, landfills, and on company property.
Key Responsibilities- Crane Operation: Operate boom cranes with standard boom lengths and angles for loads well within the lifting capacity of the cranes.
- Load Management: Load and unload crates, lumber, machinery, roofing materials or equipment at worksites or outdoor storage areas.
- Safety Protocols: Observe load hookup and determine safety of load, manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism, inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Truck Operation: Maintain at least a Class B CDL, inspect truck for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects, malfunctions or regular maintenance items.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized vehicles.
- Teamwork: Shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of any piece of equipment in the field of his/her responsibility.
- Age and License: 18 years of age or older, valid Driver's License with no restriction (Class B CDL).
- Physical Abilities: Ability to pass pre-hire physical and pre-hire drug screening, good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English.
- Work Environment: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, twist, turn, and reach frequently, comfortable working in job environment more than 6 feet off the ground.
- Education and Training: NCCCO certification (if not will train).
- Language Skills: Bi-lingual English and Spanish beneficial.
- Soft Skills: Ability and willingness to work with roofing crews and sheet metal shop when operating isn't needed, be professional, respectful, and maintain composure with customers and co-workers.
