As an Area Production Engineer at International Flavors & Fragrances, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance to equipment within your assigned area. Your primary focus will be on monitoring processes and equipment to ensure safety, cost, and production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead area activities to meet Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Inventory goals.
- Provide technical support for specific manufacturing units, including monitoring performance metrics, troubleshooting, and investigating operating deficiencies.
- Manage Process Safety Management (PSM) aspects, including Management of Change (MOC), Operating Instructions, and Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
- Provide area subject matter expertise to all functions of the site, including Maintenance, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, and other departments.
- Coordinate maintenance activities in the area in collaboration with Maintenance and Planning staff.
- Establish effective communications throughout the area, focusing on sharing information and engaging employees in the success of the facility.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- Ability to communicate and work closely with team members throughout the organization.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to detect and correct operational deviations.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of batch and continuous reaction and distillation, including control systems, is preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in the specialty chemical or petrochemical/refinery industry.
- Experience with the OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulation is preferred.
