Job Title: Reception & Placement Caseworker

Join the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as a Reception & Placement Caseworker and play a vital role in supporting refugees and immigrants in their transition to a new life.

Job Overview:

The Caseworker provides critical services to refugees and immigrants, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and a positive resettlement experience. This role involves working closely with clients, colleagues, and external partners to develop personalized service plans, ensuring each individual receives the necessary support to thrive in their new environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate pre- and post-arrival services to ensure clients have access to essential resources, including housing, food, medical care, and transportation.
  • Conduct intake services to assess client needs, develop self-sufficiency plans, and provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
  • Monitor client progress, address challenges, and ensure available resources are utilized effectively.
  • Document client interactions and input client information into database(s) as required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner organizations to build relationships and provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • May train and lead volunteers and interns in their activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Relevant professional experience in human services (minimum 2 years' experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations (strongly preferred).
Working Environment:
  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and 'field' time within the service delivery area.
  • May require weekend and/or evening work.
