Job Summary:
The Evening Facility Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the school environment, thereby supporting a healthy and positive atmosphere for students and staff. This position involves not only routine maintenance tasks but also direct assistance to educators in organizing and maintaining classroom furniture and equipment. The attendant serves as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and a helpful demeanor. Additionally, this role includes responsibilities related to building security and collaboration with school administrators during various activities.

Compensation:
Salary is determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Work Schedule:
Evening shifts with flexibility based on departmental needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or two years of custodial experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Experience working with diverse communities is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Capacity to work in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety codes and procedures.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and operating equipment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with alarm systems and HVAC operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning Duties:
a. Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
b. Ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
c. Manage safety during adverse weather conditions.
d. Follow safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals.

2. Administrative Responsibilities:
a. Identify maintenance needs and ensure timely service requests.
b. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
c. Promote energy conservation practices.

3. Safety and Security:
a. Conduct inspections to prevent injuries or damage.
b. Secure the facility at the end of shifts.
c. Assist in emergency preparedness and response.
