Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to oversee the financial management of sponsored research accounts, ensuring adherence to agency and university policies regarding expenditures, re-budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of all financial transactions, including expenses and revenues, to maintain accurate records and secure management approval.
- Address any discrepancies in posted expenses promptly and liaise with relevant parties to prevent future errors.
- Engage with faculty and cost center managers to assess current spending and forecast future expenses, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Manage day-to-day purchasing requests for sponsored projects, including obtaining quotes and preparing necessary documentation.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, ensuring compliance with university guidelines and processing reimbursements for allowable expenses.
- Stay informed about university, state, and federal financial regulations, maintaining communication with relevant departments to ensure compliance in all financial activities.
- Develop and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that reflect university policies for daily operations.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree coupled with four years of relevant experience in office administration, accounting, or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience includes at least one year in sponsored grant management, particularly within higher education settings.
- Strong knowledge of applicable business practices, laws, and regulations related to public fiscal administration, including procurement and travel.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including PeopleSoft, eProcurement, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:
This position may offer a hybrid work schedule following a probationary period, subject to departmental needs and managerial approval. Candidates must be located within the designated area and be available for on-campus responsibilities with short notice.
