About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our team at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and advancing our mission through the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead large-scale projects and initiatives, leveraging your expertise in AI/ML to drive business outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions
  • Design and implement novel metrics to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Evaluate and optimize large production deep learning systems
  • Develop and maintain expertise in modern deep learning concepts, including Generative AI models, FCN, CNN, RNN, Autoencoders, and Large Language Models
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related technical fields
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience with increasing scope in developing and implementing ML solutions
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to stakeholders
  • Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
  • Experience with cloud platforms, version control practices, and MLOps
  • Familiarity with Learning to Rank models, recommender systems, and computer vision models
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related technical fields
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture, ML model hosting strategies, and model testing techniques
