Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mobility Technician to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Mobility Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with mobilization and personal care, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and position patients for treatment, providing assistance during and after treatment.
  2. Assist with toileting and set up for personal care of patients, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  3. Assist with ambulation and exercise plans, promoting patient mobility and independence.
  4. Assemble and prepare equipment, setting up treatment modalities and ensuring their proper use.
  5. Assist with transfers and mechanical lifting of debilitated patients, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  6. Transport patients to and from the gym, facilitating their participation in therapy sessions.
  7. Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and the orderliness of the department, adhering to infection control protocols.
  8. Perform daily equipment sweeps on inpatient units, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment.
  9. Assist with scheduling patients for therapy, coordinating with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment plans.
  10. Provide clerk duties, including phone, triaging messages, scheduling patients, data collection and entry, and assisting in the gym.
  11. Perform other duties as required or assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to patient care.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience working with the public desired.
  • Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with computers desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Required Licensure/Certifications

- Must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of employment
