Job Summary:
Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a full-time Lead Medical Assistant to provide clinical support to patients in the primary care clinic under the supervision of the physician. The successful candidate will oversee clinical staff, provide continuity and coordination of care in the outpatient setting, and perform various clinical tasks.
Responsibilities:- Perform basic patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Conduct decentralized testing, office procedures, and monitor refrigerator temperatures.
- Order supplies and maintain stock, conduct patient assessments, administer injections and immunizations, and complete forms as requested.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assist with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
- Maintain drug sample closet, assist with hazardous waste management, and conduct filing, call back, and follow-up.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in Medical Assistant or other Certificate from a college in Medical Assistant required.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
