About the Role

Air Sea Packing Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Transport Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering, receiving, and transporting furniture, artwork, and other merchandise to residential and commercial locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Delivery: Drive a truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo, materials, furniture, or artwork.
  • Communication and Dispatch: Maintain radio or telephone contact with base supervisors to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations.
  • Logistics and Record-Keeping: Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations, keep records of materials and products transported, and position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo for transport.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and service vehicles, and operate equipment on vehicles to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials.
  • Customer Service: Obtain customer signatures or collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges, and assist in loading and unloading trucks manually.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years of previous commercial truck driving experience and 4 years of fine furniture handling and moving experience.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial trucking routes and the ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiasm, hard work, a clean-cut, well-groomed appearance, and punctuality.
