Job Description for Production Supervisor at Somafina

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production department at Somafina. This includes managing the production schedule, supervising department supervisors, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the efforts of department supervisors to manage day-to-day production activities.
  • Establish and track daily, weekly, and monthly goals, and review progress with management.
  • Recommend equipment purchases to improve operations, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Collaborate on hiring, training, and termination of employees.
  • Develop and maintain cost and capacity models.
  • Oversee the production scheduling process.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the group's information and planning systems and quality assurance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and proposed GMPs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support company policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the industry.

Competencies/Skill Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and calculating percentages and yield.
  • Ability to respond to customer inquiries and complaints, and present information to top management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • English proficiency required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle objects.
  • Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
