Job Overview:We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to champion Steelcase's quality initiatives and act as the advocate for our customers throughout the entire Supply Chain, from our suppliers through product development and production to our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for Steelcase's quality goals and represent the customer perspective across the Supply Chain, from suppliers to product development and manufacturing.
- Engage in FMEA-based risk management activities.
- Design, implement, and assess manufacturing quality assurance systems, processes, and statistical methodologies.
- Lead project management responsibilities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Specify or design inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
- Evaluate production and service processes and standards, recommending revisions to specifications as necessary.
- Formulate or assist in the formulation of quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Direct tactical Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Quality Engineering or a technical field, including experience with fundamental quality engineering concepts, project management skills for tactical improvements, and data analysis for prioritizing quality enhancement opportunities.
- Ability to apply a comprehensive understanding of quality engineering principles, practices, standards, and procedures.
- Capability to develop technical solutions for complex, strategic problems.
- Proficient in making informed decisions that significantly impact customer experience.
- Proactive in applying innovative approaches to enhance practices and procedures.
- Effective collaboration skills with various functions within the organization and individuals at all management and technical levels.
- Demonstrated project management expertise with cross-functional teams and advanced facilitation skills.
- Able to represent the organization as a primary contact on technical projects.
- Working knowledge of product testing requirements, product development cycles, and specialized processes.
