Position Overview

Wilkes University is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Financial Compliance Program Coordinator within the Luzerne County SHINE initiative.


SHINE is an innovative after-school program focusing on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) for students in grades 1-8 across various school districts in Luzerne County.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the SHINE Executive Director and the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting monthly financial reconciliations for the grant-funded SHINE program, encompassing payroll, expense allocations, invoicing, and budgeting.
  • Assisting with grant submissions and renewals related to the SHINE program.
  • Overseeing timekeeping records for approximately 60 part-time staff, including managing missing punches and approving time cards through an electronic attendance system.
  • Monitoring vendor contracts to ensure timely payments and necessary renewals.
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in bookkeeping and managing program budgets.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
  • Skills in grant writing.
  • A proven ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.


Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
