Position Summary

The primary objective of this role is to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodations in alignment with established quality standards. Responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Thoroughly clean and prepare guest rooms and bathrooms following set protocols.
  2. Organize, count, and transport linens efficiently.
  3. Make beds and replenish room supplies, including amenities and clean linens.
  4. Handle furniture weighing up to 20 lbs as needed.
  5. Utilize appropriate cleaning methods for various surfaces, including sweeping and scrubbing floors.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of carpets and upholstered items using vacuuming techniques.
  7. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
  8. Sanitize bathrooms, including tubs, sinks, and toilets.
  9. Manage waste disposal and replenish bathroom supplies.
  10. Keep cleaning carts organized and maintain linen storage areas.
  11. Complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
  12. Ensure cleanliness in common areas such as hallways, restrooms, and elevators.
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the essential functions, the role may involve:
  • General cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to meet health standards.
  • Responding to special requests from guests and addressing unexpected cleaning needs.
  • Collaborating with fellow housekeeping staff to uphold a tidy work environment.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
  • Adhering to safety protocols.
  • Executing other duties as directed by management.
  • Following all health and safety guidelines.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of carpet and floor care.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Physical Requirements

The role requires:
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a controlled environment.
  • Capability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Physical strength to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Skill in pushing and pulling equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Flexibility to bend, squat, and stretch as necessary.
  • Manual dexterity for operating cleaning equipment.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in commercial housekeeping is essential, with hospitality experience preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus.
