Responsibilities:

The Nursing Supervisor will:

  • Implement administrative objectives and policies, communicating the goals of Nursing Services to the nursing staff.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained during shifts.
  • Conduct daily rounds on nursing units to assess resident conditions and needs, reporting any changes to the Director of Nursing.
  • Monitor nursing care to ensure compliance with physician orders and treatment protocols.
  • Assist in the orientation of newly hired nurses and the clinical placement of nursing students.
  • Coordinate hospital transfers for residents as necessary.
  • Provide nursing care, administer medications, and perform treatments as required.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, organization, and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the Staffing Coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing levels across all units.
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative in fostering organizational and departmental growth.


Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.


Education:
  • Associate Degree required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
