Role Summary: In the capacity of a School Psychologist, you will be essential in fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer psychological evaluations to assess students' cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional capabilities.
  • Analyze evaluation outcomes and work collaboratively with educators, guardians, and other specialists to formulate suitable interventions and support strategies.
  • Offer individual and group counseling to students addressing emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
  • Advise teachers and school personnel in devising and executing strategies to cultivate positive and inclusive educational environments.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and provide assistance to students and families during critical situations.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions to review student progress, create individualized education plans (IEPs), and propose service recommendations.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation and record-keeping in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Virginia.
  • Experience in conducting psychological evaluations and delivering counseling services within a school environment.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations related to special education services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
