Join the Williamsburg County School District as an Education Assistant and play a vital role in supporting students' academic success. This is a dynamic position that requires a caring, nurturing attitude towards all students while maintaining confidentiality.
About the RoleIn this position, you will provide general instructional and teaching assistance to assigned teachers. Your duties will include preparing copies, performing light typing and data entry, conducting roll call, administering make-up tests, and assisting with academic instruction and classroom activities.
You will also be responsible for setting up classrooms for special activities, demonstrating remedial instruction or tasks to reinforce learning initiated by teachers, working with students requiring individual attention, and reading to children. Additionally, you will maintain records as established by the teacher, school, and district, and support policies related to pupil personnel, including discipline, safety, health, and referrals.
This is a full-time position offering an estimated salary of $35,000-$45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The salary may vary based on location and other factors.
Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (preferred); High School Diploma; 60 hours college credit from an accredited college, or passing score on the ParaPro Exam.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of educational software.
