Surgical Technologist

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to assist our surgical team in providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting surgeons during procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile environment during procedures, including handling instruments and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures, including passing instruments and sponges.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts as specified by policy.
- Assume care of specimens until turned over to the Registered Nurse.
- Protect patients from potential injury and contamination of the sterile field.
- Restock supplies and straighten the operating room for next use.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology or on-the-job training with two years scrub experience in an OR setting.
- Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification at HCP Level required.
